Tod Aronovitz, founder and shareholder of ARONOVITZ JAFFE, is a Florida attorney specializing in complex civil litigation, including consumer class action, catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases.
For more than 35 years, Mr. Aronovitz has served the legal needs of the people of south Florida, continuing the legacy of his father, a highly respected judge, and his uncle, a renowned mayor of Miami and an attorney who worked tirelessly for his clients. A lifelong Miami resident, Mr. Aronovitz is nationally recognized for the precedent-setting cases and significant pretrial settlements he has won on behalf of his clients, as well as his commitment to his profession and his community.
Mr. Aronovitz received his J.D. degree from the University of Miami School of Law, where he has served as an adjunct professor lecturing on civil litigation and trial techniques. As an expert in his field, he has authored numerous publications on trial preparation, trial strategy, jury trial techniques, consumer class actions, and complex personal injury law issues in Florida.
In addition to being a successful trial lawyer, Mr. Aronovitz is a leader among his peers and a staunch champion for the advancement of the legal profession in Florida. As President of the Florida Bar from 2002 to 2003, he introduced the Dignity in Law program to promote public education about the legal profession – a program that remains a vital part of the Bar’s communication efforts today.
Mr. Aronovitz has been admitted to the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit. He is a member and former Director of the Dade County Bar Association and a member of the American Bar Association. Mr. Aronovitz was elected by his peers to the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates; he also belongs to the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the Florida Justice Association, and he is AV rated.
Within the community, Mr. Aronovitz is an active volunteer and leader. He is affiliated with the American Board of Trial Advocates Guardian Ad Litem program, serving as a court-appointed advocate to protect the rights and best interests of a child in a court proceeding, as well as the Dade County Put Something Back program, providing pro bono (free) legal assistance to the disadvantaged population of Miami-Dade County. He belongs to or serves in various capacities with the Alumni Association, Iron Arrow Honorary Society, and Bar and Gavel Honorary Society through the University of Miami School of Law. Mr. Aronovitz is a member of the Alliance for Ethical Government and the Coalition for Family Safety and serves on the Boards of Miami Jewish Home, Hospital for the Aged and BankUnited (BKUNA), and the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society.
In each of the past seven years, Miami magazine and the South Florida Legal Guide have named Tod Aronovitz as one of Florida’s leading trial attorneys. He was also selected by his peers to be included among Florida Trend magazine’s “Legal Elite” from 2004 through 2007.
